You’re on a treasure hunt, so you’ll like the Eden Valley. It’s just like a scene from a fairytale and, unsurprisingly, is reputedly part of the fabled land of King Arthur.

The Eden Valley is nestled in a tranquil corner of Cumbria, close to the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The charm of the Eden Valley lies in its illusion of remoteness. Just a few minutes journey from major road networks reveals an unforgettable, dramatic panorama of mountain scenery, lush green fields and woodlands.

The River Eden gently flows through 67 miles (108 km) of the most spectacular and inspiring landscape in England. So beautiful that the Eden Valley-to-Alston route was nominated as one of the top ten most scenic drives in the world. If you’re feeling curious, go and see Long Meg and her daughters nearby, the second largest stone circle in Europe, where the druids still come twice a year for the Solstice. Discover the Eden Valley. Just a short time spent exploring the treasures of this stunning land and you will not want to leave

Pendragon Castle   There are hundreds of miles of public footpaths along the riverbanks and up the fells to satisfy even the most avid of ramblers. And for cyclists there’s the Eden Valley Circular Cycle Route which takes in some of the most beautiful stretches of countryside, as well as a number of interesting visitor attractions.
